Guest Lectures
Guru Nanak Institute of Management and Technology (GNIMT), Gujarkhan Campus, Model Town, Ludhiana organized a seminar on the topic: “INCOME AWARENESS AND ITS IMPORTANCE IN NATION BUILDING” in collaboration with the Government of India, Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue and Department of Income Tax Ludhiana.
This awareness seminar is an initiative taken by the Government of India in celebration of 75 years of Independence i.e. @Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
Mr. H.S Dhillon, Additional Commissioner Income Tax, Ms. Megha Garg, Deputy Commissioner, Mr. Sanjeev Kumar, Income Tax Officer, Mr. Vijay Garg, ITO, and Ms. Urmila Mehrolia, ITO were the resource persons of the session.
Sir H.S. Dhillon explained to students the importance of paying taxes for nation-building and also he explained the duties and responsibilities of taxpayers.
The session was really interesting and interactive, students asked questions related to Income Tax.
Principal GNIMT, Dr. @Sandhya Mehta appreciated the Income Tax dept. for taking such initiatives. Dr. (Col) H.S. Singha, Director, GNIMT congratulated and appreciated the resource persons for the successful conduct of the seminar.
Commerce Department of GNIMT Guru Nanak Institute of Management & Technology, Gujarkhan Campus, Model Town, Ludhiana organized a workshop on the topic entitled “Financial Freedom” for B.Com(H) Students. CS Pooja Kohli was the resource person. The workshop started with a focus on explaining audience what is Financial Freedom and the importance of insurance and SIP also. She explained the significance of financial freedom by giving smart goals and steps to achieve financial freedom in a very simple manner. The session was very interactive in which students asked queries.
The workshop was concluded with a Vote of Thanks and note by Dr. Sandhya Mehta, Principal, GNIMT.

GNIMT organized a session by GM – North, @The Times Group, Mr. VISHAL SHARMA on Corporate working changes due to covid.
The speaker also covered the effects of covid on the print Industry and the Importance of Summer Internships for all the students who are pursuing their graduation and post-graduation.
Guru Nanak Institute of Management and Technology (GNIMT), Gujarkhan Campus, Model Town, Ludhiana organized a workshop on cloud services for their students of BCA and MCA. Mr. Anshu Aneja (B.Tech(IT), M.Tech(IT) with 17+ years of experience, Mr. Ashish Jalota (B.Tech (CSE), M.Tech(CSE) with 15+years of experience), and Ms. Kriti Bhatia (BCA & MCA with 3+years of experience) were the resource persons of the workshop. They taught students the practical implementation with the application of relevant cloud services to enhance their knowledge. The resource persons talked about cloud service platforms i.e. Amazon web services, Heroku app, and its implementation by using live examples. They also discussed Machine learning applications and discussed DevOps and its future career avenue. It was an interesting workshop that provided students an insight into the working of cloud computing. Prof. Dr.Sandhya Mehta, Principal, GNIMT appreciated the way practical demonstrations were implemented.

Training & Placement Cell of GNIMT organized a Guest Lecture for its MBA Students on Industry Expectations from a fresh MBA Graduate.
Mr. @Sunil Attri, Silage Business Lead, Corteva Agriscience was the resource person.
The speaker guided the students about the Personal, Professional, and Academic Skillset expected from a graduate student.
He also shared the importance of being an inquisitive, open-minded, adaptive, and collaborative employee in the corporate world.

GNIMT has organized a workshop on Yoga & Meditation in association with Bhartiya Yog Sansthan for the wellbeing of students & faculty.

The students of the department of Computer Applications, GNIMT Guru Nanak Institute of Management and Technology, Model Town, Ludhiana had an exclusive Workshop on Agile Practices from a Team of FIS India, Noida. Senior Project Manager Mr. Kanwaljeet Singh and Scrum Master Ms. Harroop Kaur were the expert resource persons of the day. The principal of the institute, Dr. Sandhya Mehta noted that all kinds of organizations look for inputs from the project management teams for a collaborative effort and continual improvements. And, this workshop is certainly going to give new and different insights to students.
The workshop began with Mr. Kanwaljeet’s session on Agile Principles for sustainable development and early delivery of projects. Then the roles of the Scrum framework, KanBan, Scrum events, Empiricism, and Lean Thinking were detailed. The third phase included hands-on sessions on the Jira tool by Ms. Harroop Kaur, where the students came to know about the epic, story, issue-handling, etc. It was followed by an AWS setup.
In the final phase, the career growth graph of software project managers was outlined. The resource person said that the salary package of a software project manager begins from 8 to 10 lakh onwards and it grows in good proportion as you get richer in experience and certifications.
GNIMT BCA MCA FIS Coding JIRA Scrum
GNIMT’s NSS Club organized Cancer Awareness Lecture on Breast Cancer and Cervical Cancer by Dr. Sandhya Sood, MD, Radiation Oncology, DMCH for all the girl students. This session was conducted by DMCH Cancer Care Centre in collaboration with the American Oncology Institute Ludhiana which is a leading cancer care provider that operates a chain of cancer hospitals across South Asia. It was stated by the speaker that in breast cancer, the outlook is best in those who are diagnosed when the cancer is still small and has not spread. More breast cancers are also now being diagnosed and treated at an early stage. In general, the more advanced cancer than the less chance that treatment will be curative.
Breast cancer occurs when healthy cells change and develop out of control, forming a mass called a tumor which can grow and spread to other parts of the body or can grow but will not spread. Breast cancer spreads when cancer grows into other parts of the body, or when they move through the blood vessels.
Dr. Sood shared that it is very important for everyone to take care of their health by giving half an hour every day for self-check. She guided that exercise, morning walks and an optimistic approach are the key factors for a healthy life. She emphasized the fact that all the myths related to this disease need to be removed from one’s mind.
